what is a Wiki software?
Is Wiki software similar to Frontpage express and all those type?
Do we require to have a domain or sub-domain registered in our name, so that we can upload the wiki?

Wiki software needs to be installed on a web server. If you want to host it yourself, you would need a domain name, but an easier option to have a company like Wikia host it. See http://www.wikia.com/wiki/Start_a_new_Wikia to make your own wiki without needing to install the wiki software.
