Ssl Certificates Free – Your Questions…

Ssl

Steven asks…

how to get a free ssl certificate for my website?

Hi all
This is Harish, an MCA student. Currently doing a project which demands secure transactions. Please help me as soon as possible to get me a free ssl certificate for my project’s website

admin answers:

CAcert is a non-profit volunteer organization that operates a Certificate Authority where you can obtain a free certificate. The web site is: www.cacert.org.

The only caveat is that the CAcert root certificate is not included [yet] in Explorer or Firefox. For now, surfers must visit cacert.org and download the root cert.

I know you said free, but if you decide to pay, whichssl.com offers price comparison of the commercial providers (Verisign, Thawte, Entrust, et al).

admin answers:

1. You probably won’t get web hosting service included.

2. If you have full DNS control then you can create subdomains, after all that’s exactly what “www.” is. So, you can create additional DNS records for all your subdomains and you can point them all at the same server or different servers.

3. ?

4. This allows you to contorl things like 2.

5. Probably, you need to check the limit on POP3/IMAP accounts.

6. ?
