How can I register a website domain name ?

I know that the obvious answer would be a registrer, my question is how do registerers register those domaine names ? I’ve heard about ICANN, but i couldn’t find anything leading to how I can register a domaine name without passing by a registerer !

You have to run your own domain server. (Which is not free) This allows you to have other people create web domians that run off of your server. There are places where you can purchase a server and pay for it monthly. I hope this helps.

If you want to forward your emails, it will say ‘POP email and forward’… what does it mean?

POP refers to the method by which your web-based email messages can be read through a program on your computer.

A POP3 (Post Office Protocol) server is used to store email messages. Messages are collected from a POP3 (incoming) mail box using an email client such as Thunderbird, Outlook or Outlook Express.

Forward in this case refers to Automatic Forwarding rather than the case where you click Forward on an email to send to a friend. You need the POP3 feature to be able to set your account to always automatically forward your mail to some other account.

Unfortunately these features are not available with the FREE Yahoo email accounts. You’d need to upgrade to the PAID version – Yahoo Mail Plus @ $19.99 per year in order to use these options.
